When you have hemorrhoids, the veins in your anus and lower rectum are swollen and inflamed thus the visible lumps or masses of tissue in the anus. The buildup of abdominal pressure can cause hemorrhoids. Frequent straining during bowel movement may produce hemorrhoids. Pregnant women and obese people are predisposed to hemorrhoids. Engage in regular exercises. Being active helps promote regular bowel movement and deter you from standing or sitting for long periods which can also cause hemorrhoids. Being overweight is another contributing factor of hemorrhoids so better start an exercise routine to lose the excess weight.

Avoid delaying when you feel the urge to have a bowel movement to prevent hemorrhoids.

However, there could be instances when you must bank on medications or surgical procedures. For more serious cases of hemorrhoids, there are surgical procedures recommended depending on how severe the case is. Hemorrhoidectomy or hemorrhoid removal is done to remove the excess tissue that is causing the bleeding. For severe and recurring case of hemorrhoids, hemorrhoidectomy is an effective procedure.
